The answer is to work to make sure more good people are carrying guns. When people are shooting back, not only does that deter future crime, it shortens the duration of the crime in which the shots are being fired. Defensive Gun Uses save between 2-10x as many lives, each year, in the USA as guns take, and that includes gun suicides which are the vast majority of gun deaths. This has been born out by MANY studies, including many by LEFT leaning organizations that were trying to prove the opposite.

Family helps. Good parents sacrifice to make sure their kids don't have tremendous school debt. And then the onus is on the young to find roommates and be smart with their money. My eldest graduated last year and should have enough saved to put down 20% on a starter home by this time next year. Trump is certainly energizing a lot of the black community in Detroit. According to the Department of education, since 1970 the cost of teaching each student has risen at nearly 3x the rate of inflation and while class sizes are much smaller and the number of teachers and administrators per student are much higher, testing of our kids in schools shows NO improvement over that time. Lots of us are unhappy about school funding because it is clear that throwing more money at school funding is just like throwing money into a dumpster fire.

Been following Gilles Peterson for over 20 years. It's difficult to describe how important he is to the music scene in the UK, and his impact has been global. Thanks a lot for getting him on your show. I've subscribed

The housing issue could be better addressed with tiny home communities. Heck, making such homes out of old shipping containers is a popular and hip thing these days. You could probably fit 2 or 3 such homes on many vacant lots in Detroit, and if the community decides to rebuild with larger homes, the tiny homes can be moved pretty readily so there would be no losses.

This just isn't all that hard to address. Treat this issue the same way we treat alcohol. Plenty of delicious versions of alcohol that kids might want to take too. And we know there is plenty of alcohol advertising. Near adults have been using alcohol AND cannabis for decades. It's a very tiny problem. The last thing we need is more government stupidity. And this is coming from a guy who doesn't do drugs and rarely drinks, but certainly tried my share as a teen.

Farmers are no differnt than shareholders. They want max profit. These migrant workers usually only work for the season. They are not paid a lot. I met a guy who ownes a winery in TC. He has migrants working the fields during harvest season. They don't make a lot.. he also owns two yachts. F em. You don't like it pick it urself.

Gee, surprise, surprise... WDET is in favor of using taxation to pay for so many things that people should be paying for, themselves. Like college. There are plenty of liberals in this state. More than enough to fund that largesse directly from their own earnings. Zero need for government to do it as that will just lead to much higher costs for such education (as it does WHENEVER government subsidizes anything. Sure some folks will not directly see that cost, but all taxpaying citizens will feel those costs.)
